our story

It all started during the first lockdown. Stores were closed. Fitting rooms off-limits. And in true Dutch fashion, the sun made a rare appearance.

We needed warm-weather clothes fast—but with no tape measure, no try-on options, and no clue if our usual size would actually fit, we were stuck.
Three choices. None ideal:

  1. Buy our normal size and hope for the best.
  2. Order multiple sizes and return the rest—wasting time, money, and adding to CO₂ emissions.
  3. Give up entirely and miss the sun.

That moment of frustration sparked a bigger idea:
What if shoppers never had to guess their size again?
What if every brand could give every shopper the confidence to buy the right size the first time?

That “what if” became Faslet the AI-powered sizing platform that simplifies shopping, reduces returns, and makes fashion more sustainable.

Ard Kortenoeven

Handler

As one of the founders of Faslet, Ard is a real jack-of-all-trades! He studied Small Business & Retail Management and went to work fulltime in the games industry after his internship, where he was responsible for the advertising and monetization.

10 years later he discovered his passion for entrepreneurship.
“It is challenging to start a company from 0, but it is so much fun to build something that stems from your ideas and that challenge does provide a lot of variety and learning moments.”

In his spare time, Ard likes to be in nature with his girlfriend and furry friend Lucky, travels a lot and is also a real whiskey- and movie connoisseur. In exactly that order!

Robbert Hoogstraten

Hustler

Robbert, initiator of Faslet, is a playful, motivating storyteller with an eye for opportunities. An entrepreneur since childhood, he aims to build a business with positive environmental impact and inspire his two children to follow their dreams.

During the pandemic he co-founded Faslet with Ard, later joined by David.

Outside work, Robbert enjoys family, friends, boating, games, and movies. Motto: Life is a game, live to play.

David Goemans

Hacker

David, our tech specialists, has a great love for building things. From a young age, he has always been building. Whether it’s Lego’s, furniture, or software programs. This is also why we call him the hacker.

He studied Computer Science & Mathematics in South-Africa, where he was born and raised. Later, David moved to The Netherlands where he worked in games, finance and eCommerce.

In a past role, he met Ard & Robbert and a few years later, decided on joining them in building Faslet.

“In general, I enjoy finding something that doesn’t work, and solving the problem. Whether it be making some furniture or spending hours on software.”

His perfect weekend is a combination in doing and building things around the house, as well as grabbing a drink with friends.
Oh and by the way, David. Loves. Cheese.

Niels Dolk

Financial Controller

Introducing Niels Dolk, our diligent Financial Controller with a rich background in overseeing diverse business sectors, from game development to beauty salons. As the founder of Dolk Finance, a dynamic consultancy firm, Niels is renowned for his personalized approach to client relations, emphasizing flexibility beyond the typical nine-to-five.

An avid football fan, Niels also boasts a love for craft beers and takes pride in his distinctive tattoos. With Niels at the helm, finance isn’t just straightforward—it’s a reflection of his unique character.

Luc Kortenoeven

Customer Success Manager

Drawn to the dynamic environment of startups, Luc chose to hone his skills at Faslet as a Customer Succes Manager, readying himself for the vast expanse of the business landscape. A fervent supporter of AFC Ajax, Luc’s passion for football is evident, not just as a spectator, but as a vocal participant, joining the chorus of fans at the stadium.

Outside the realms of work and football, Luc immerses himself in enlightening podcasts, enjoys the grabbing a drink with friends, and pursuing his fitness goals with dedication at the gym.

Meet our Growth Marketing Manager, with an artsy and innovative approach, Roberta is here to infuse Faslet creative perspectives to her entrepreneurial mindset.

With a passion for communication, social media, and meaningful interactions, Roberta combines her creative flair with a deep appreciation for behavioural psychology. When she’s not crafting marketing strategies, you’ll find her connecting with people, traveling, practicing yoga, cooking, or enhancing her makeup skills.

Adam Stokes

Full Stack Engineer

Adam’s a self-taught developer from South Africa with an insatiable curiosity and appreciation for the craft. He thrives on tinkering and discovering solutions firsthand.

Originally rooted in animation and art, Adam hit the ground running as a full-stack developer: from an IoT startup to large enterprises, he found his calling in code and hasn’t looked back.

He’s passionate about systems and design, expressing his creativity through various outlets – from Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons to creating his own illustrations. He hopes to one day auteur his own game and share those powerful experiences with others. Just don’t ask him about his favorite F1 driver.

With a background in architecture and UX, Nisha blends aesthetic vision with practical design thinking, crafting interfaces that not only look great but work seamlessly.
